Reader xJesusIsDeadlyx writes in with a reoccurring issue he’s been having with the Xbox Live marketplace, as well as a way he found to fix it.
"I purchase something nearly everyday on Xbox One day I received a peculiar error, "80169d4," which stopped me from making my purchases. I was not happy, and thinking it was temporary I tried the next day and once more after that. It still did not work, and I even tried a point card but alas, nothing.
Someone said that this error is due to a mismatch of my credit information and Xbox profile information. Here’s how to fix it:
- Make sure that your Live profile matches your credit card, with NO ABREVIATIONS. My credit card is registered under Street and I put my profile address as St.
- Second, make sure your XBOX.com profile matches.
- Third, your email must match.
- Fourth, call 1-800-4MY-XBOX. Tell them your account is locked and you cannot add points, they will transfer you. The proper agent will walk you through it making sure it all matches. After that, it will be resolved within five business days.”
Thanks again to xJesusIsDeadlyx for the tip (It was edited for length).
