Every now and then I read about a “zombie walk” or “zombie party” and can’t decide if these people are just crazy or super crazy awesome. This past 4th of July weekend, 3,848 zombied up Seattle folk partied it up to break the Guinness world record for largest controlled, non-lethal zombie apocalypse, which, for the uninitiated, includes Thriller dance tributes. Why am I posting this? Fremont Outdoor Movies, in collaboration with Microsoft (see, I’m getting somewhere with this) sponsored the whole shindig and gave away a blood red Resident Evil 5 Xbox 360 LE bundle to the winner of the costume contest. The event, appropriately title “Red, White and Dead” was organized by Jon Hegeman and Ryan Reiter with the specific purpose of breaking the record and hey, if Microsoft wants to throw in its own zombie themed console into the mix, why the hell not?
