Think you have what it takes to take on hordes of flesh eating zombies? No, this is not a LFD2 post. Undead Labs, based in Seattle, recently opened the gates with the announcement of a Zombie MMO.
Jeff Strain, founder of Undead Labs, certainly has the pedigree to take on this type of endeavor. A veteran in the game industry, he has worked on popular hits such as Guild Wars, Diablo, Starcraft and World of Warcraft.
“Every time I see a good zombie movie with friends, we spend days debating our strategies for surviving the zombie apocalypse,” said Strain. “The police station, or the supermarket? Garden rake, or staple gun? Bach, or the White Stripes? I’m a game developer, so I’d probably be useless for anything other than ghoul bait, but I’m excited to have the opportunity to build an MMOZ that lets us put those strategies to the test and find out for sure.”

With the influx of Zombie related media coming out these days, I guess it was only a matter of time before a zombie MMO came out. The potential for this title is massive and we’ll certainly be keeping an eye out on developments as they come along. However, don’t expect anything anytime soon, this is still in the very early stages of development.

People either love it or hate it. Some would rather sleep in than get up at 4 am in the morning and push and shove their way to savings. So to help you decide whether you need to get up that early or sleep off that Turkey overdose let me list the highlights from some of Friday’s deals.
Remember some of these may be online so you might not even have to get out of your bunny suit pajamas.

The first DLC for Borderlands, the Zombie Island of Dr. Ned, is out today. For 800 MS Points ($10), you can get your hands on this new content. It has an estimated 6-10 hours of expanded gameplay, which would make it well worth the money. Borderlands has been out for about a month now and a full featured DLC is already out. Cheers to Gearbox for their hard work.
2K Sports has chosen their cover athlete for MLB 2K10, Evan Longoria of the Tampa Bay Rays. Being the tenth anniversary of the game, 2K is also allowing the fans to choose the final cover design. By heading over to www.2Ksports.com/vote, you can voice your opinion for one of the six variations for next year’s version of the game. The Digest: Alright, fine… I’ll put down my controller long enough to type a review…
Today was a prevalent day for Xbox 360 owners, showing us the release of two heavy-hitting sequels. Assassin’s Creed 2 was launched, the follow up to the ever-popular and ever-repetitive Crusade action game. Hopes were high that the sequel would retain the joyous elements of the first title, while fixing the things that made it a tedious punch in the face after a few hours.
But alas, I am poor, so I am only here to comment about the other big-time release for today: Left 4 Dead 2.
Against a long-running boycott and plenty of dissatisfied fans, the zombie shooting sequel hit shelves today just around a year after the launch of the first game. While there are tons of gamers out there who never thought they got their money’s worth with the first game, I say “meh,” and am happy to get more of something I enjoy. Money is extremely tight for me, but I’m not high and mighty enough to whine about feeling short changed. Nobody got their money out of Turok, Perfect Dark Zero, Soldier of Fortune Payback, King Kong, or hundreds of other games, either. Then again, nobody bought those games. Regardless, people only complained because Left 4 Dead was a big deal, and because it’s made by Valve – a company with historically high standards for pleasing their community.
But enough about that crap. It’s done and over with, and the sequel is here. UPS dropped it off at around noon today, and I just got up to take a break seven hours later.
