In today’s edition of Major Nelson Radio, Infinity Ward Creative Strategist Robert Bowling (aka fourzerotwo) revealed today that the soon-to-be-released Stimulus Package DLC will cost, yes, 1200 Microsoft Points.

Yes, that’s $15 for 5 maps. Three bucks per map, and two of those maps, Crash and Overgrown, are ports of Call of Duty 4 maps.

With a price tag like that, do you still plan on purchasing the map pack yourself? Or will you start playing an alternative… say, Battlefield: Bad Company 2?

$15 for 3 new maps and 2 ports? That's ridiculous. As if they didn't make enough money, they try and charge 1/4 the price of the MSRP. Unless the price drops, I'll stick with the maps already available.

  4. As much as I love the idea of new maps, Activision is really milking CoD for all it can get. In my opinion, the port maps should be free, with the other 3 maps being $10 collectively. If I remember correctly, the CoD 4 maps were $10 for 3 (subpar, at that) NEW levels. Price-wise, it matches up, but there's no new IP in there…

I have a feeling that, in time, the price will drop down. It may be a while, so either bite the bullet or continue playing what we have now.

when you make a game as badass as call of duty you have the right to charge 15 dollars for map packs, i will be buying this and all the other map packs that come out for MW2 as well, im pretty sure i will get more enjoyment out of 4 15 dollar map packs than i will a 60 dollar copy of BC2

  6. NO WAY…this is a rip off and I will not spend my money on this map pack. IW can go to hell with THEIR stimulus package…this is all to fatten their already overflowing pockets. Who are they going to screw out of a royalty check now?

  7. Ouch. Well, I guess if I trade MW2 in plus the 15 bucks I'll save by not buying these maps, I'm halfway to paying for Bad Company 2. I liked Borderlands better anyway.

    Good job, IW.
