Since it wasn’t covered in the briefing yesterday, we were sure to grab some insider information on the sequel. Earlier today, we spoke with Emil Gheorghe, the producer and Edward Douglas, the director of the game.
Taking a step up from the original HAWX, HAWX 2 will feature “all sorts of new gameplay diversity.” This includes UAVs for ground-based missions, as well as the ability to use gunships. (We were able to see Emil give a demo of a gunship precision bombing mission in action, and it looked very polished.) Also coming to HAWX 2 is interactive landings and takeoffs, mainly off of aircraft carriers. (Given the difficulty of landing a plane on a short aircraft carrier deck, even the producer was having some trouble.)
HAWX 2 will also feature 4-player coop over Xbox Live for the entire campaign. Look for it to hit store shelves later this fall, with a playable demo on Xbox Live beforehand.
