Indiana Jones demoed on Windows Phone 7 Series and Xbox 360

March 6th, 2010 Nick Kortendick No comments

image Eric Rudder of Microsoft gave the opening keynote at Tech Ed Middle East in Dubai and demoed an Indian Jones game on both his Windows Phone 7 Series device and an Xbox 360. Surprisingly the game was developed in Visual Studio as a single project but runs on a PC with a keyboard, a Windows Phone 7 Series with an accelerometer/touch screen and an Xbox 360 with a controller. As an added bonus, when you finish playing on 1 outlet, the game saves online and lets you finish the level on another platform like your Xbox. Does this mean achievements will be available on your phone too? Only time will tell. Check out the video below for the complete demo.

In the latest issue of GameInformer, the cover story was devoted to the upcoming Portal 2. Portal 2 is set to release this holiday season as a full retail game which means it will be retailing for $60. In order to fit the $60 price tag, a two player co-op was announced alongside the campaign which is set to include new characters and, “brand new areas of Aperture Science Labs.” Notably, by looking into the orange portal on the cover, a glimpse into the outside world is seen. This article falls just days after Valve updated the ending sequence and inserted the radio update for Steam users. The updates are just on Steam but Portal 2 is coming to the Xbox 360. NHL 2K11 Not Coming to Xbox

March 3rd, 2010 Nick Kortendick No comments

imageTake Two Interactive just released their financial report and had a 13.8 million increase in net revenue. Despite this, Take-Two chairman Strauss Zelnick announced today that NHL 2K11 would not be coming to the Xbox or PS3 but instead only the Wii. “As far as (the) NHL, we’re taking a year off on PS3 and Xbox 360 to refine, redesign and re-think,” With the Olympic Gold Medal game recently between the United States and Canada, hockey seems to be at an high in North America. Now if you want to play some hockey, you’re going to have to play in standard definition and not the luscious 1080p that we all love.

Left 4 Dead Zombies Break New Records

February 12th, 2010 Nick Kortendick No comments

image Considering Left 4 Dead 2 has been out for only two months, its astounding that the community has managed to kill 28 Billion Zombies. Here are the stats:

    [Via Left4Dead 2 Blog]

In the first two months of Left 4 Dead 2’s release, 28,981,249,043 zombies have been shot, bludgeoned, chainsawed and killed — or, for our younger readers, taken to a farm where they can frolic and shuffle around forever.
You read that correctly: 28 BILLION. To put that number in perspective:

    • The entire population of the planet has been zombified and killed 4.26 times.
    • With the average height of a zombie being 6 feet, if you stacked them end to end they would circle the globe 1,322 times.
