@GearsViking never anticipated the huge response of the last XP event that reached 20x, but that isn’t stopping him from providing another HUGE event. The latest Gears of War 2 event will be based off of the amount of fans Gears of War has on Facebook, instead of the amount of Twitter followers he has.

He has yet to put a cap on the XP multiplier, but we can expect it to be around 20x (EDIT: There is NO cap, this could be a 100x event!) Spread the news to all of your friends and lets see how high we can get the multiplier this time!

The day has finally arrived. After quadrupling his amount of Twitter followers, @GearsViking and the rest of the Epic team have flipped the magic switch and have made leveling up that much easier. The 20x XP San Diego Comic Con Event runs exactly for the same hours as Comic Con – from July 22nd, 12:30 PM EDT until July 25th, at 8 PM EDT. As a late addition to the event, Horde has also been modified.

Horde for the event is going to be Boomer Family Reunion for waves 1-9 and all Bloodmounts for wave 10.

If you haven’t realized it yet, this is by far the easiest chance you’ll ever have to get to level 100 – so go play some Gears!

Want to decide if Gears of War’s Carmine lives or dies next April? All you need to do is buy an avatar shirt off of the Avatar Marketplace to cast your vote. Rod Fergusson (@GearsViking) just dropped a bombshell on the Gears of War Community, and their upcoming XP event.

Ok, here’s my bribe. The SDCC [San Diego Comic Con] XP event will be # of my followers divided by 500. So 4000 followers means 8x XP.

Right now he is at 9X (4500+ followers) and that number is quickly rising. San Diego Comic Con is July 22nd – July 25th, which leaves just over a week to quickly increase his amount of Twitter followers and possibly make this a massive XP event. Be sure to follow @GearsViking here, and @Xbox360Digest if you aren’t already.

Here’s a preview of the first of many hideous looking Locust Horde that you will be facing when Gears of War 3 drops next year.  There will be a new faction of enemies, the Lambent, looking to take apart Delta Squad and the planet Sera.  Expect to face everything from small Lambent Polyp’s to huge Stalks.

Gears of War 2 is getting another title update soon, according to the folks at Epic and their GoW2 Forum. Along with a collection of bug and glitch patches, they’re also adding a new Social matchmaking option aimed towards more casual players.

Social Matches will enable gamers to leave early without an XP penalty and join in the middle of a session, two features which are currently absent. Among other features, it also moves on immediately to the next map instead of going through another matchmaking process.

Epic is also planning a sale on their All Fronts Collection to coincide with the update, as their Social Match setting will require players to own it. Hit the link below for more patch details and the official forum post.

Well, its pretty self explanatory what you’re about to see. Since the announce trailer on Jimmy Fallon, this has been the most talked about game this month. Were any of you surprised? This is going to be one of the biggest games, and by the looks of it, the best in the series.

Gears of War 3 is obviously the most talked about thing at this moment. The teaser showed a lot of what to expect of the game and some new additions to the game. We’ve got 4 images here and they will no doubt be new backgrounds for several people. And these are some big images guys.

Stated on the Gears of War forum, the next and final chapter of the Gears of War trilogy will have 4 player co-op.

This will not be like the co-operative modes of other games where the other player is basically non existent. The characters are integrated into the story and at times, we will play as an entirely different squad. Meaning we will not play as Marcus, Dom, Cole, or Baird.

Sounds good to us! I’m assuming it will show a different point of view from the war. Maybe they’re newly acquired Gears and aren’t as experienced maybe one of them is going to be Dizzy from Gears 2 who escaped during the scourge fight and was not seen again.

We’ll find out next year in April.
